Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is the first national Aboriginal broadcaster in the world, with programming by, for and about Aboriginal peoples.

The launch of APTN on September 1, 1999, represented a significant milestone for Aboriginal Peoples across Canada. For the first time in broadcast history, First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples have the opportunity to share their stories on a national television network dedicated to Aboriginal programming.

Through documentaries, news magazines, dramas, entertainment specials, childrens’ series, cooking shows and education programs, APTN offers all Canadians a window into the remarkably diverse worlds of Indigenous Peoples in Canada and throughout the world.

GERMANY – ZDF Enterprises GmbH

ZDF Enterprises GmbH is a TV broadcaster for German speaking European countries. It engages in the development, production, and distribution of original programming worldwide. Its programming portfolio includes German language television movies and mini-series, drama series and comedies, fiction programs, documentaries, family entertainment, and childrens’ programming. The company, on behalf of ZDF German Television Network, also engages in the acquisition and international co-production of programs; and acquires programming for worldwide distribution, as well as oversees various licensing and merchandising activities based on its programs, including book and music publishing and the licensing of its program properties in key product categories. In addition, it offers access to a video library comprising collection of computer-generated images and animations relating to scientific, medical, and historical topics, as well as television material and stock footage and moving images; news and news feeds on worldwide current affairs; investigational reports on German and European news issues; stock footage to advertisers, broadcast producers, researchers, and curators for use in educational and research projects, television and film productions, and museum exhibits; and footage from British Movietone, National Geographic, NBC News, Skyworks, and WPA Film Library in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The company was founded in 1993 and is based in Mainz, Germany with additional offices in New York and Cologne. ZDF Enterprises GmbH operates asa subsidiary of Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen Anstalt des öffentlichen Rechts.
